Heroin seized during Terrell drug raid, two arrested

TERRELL, Texas — Members of the Terrell-Forney SWAT team and Terrell Police Department Narcotics Investigators executed a no-knock narcotics search warrant at a Terrell apartment on Friday morning — seizing heroin and making two arrests.

TERRELL, Texas — Members of the Terrell-Forney SWAT team and Terrell Police Department Narcotics Investigators executed a no-knock narcotics search warrant at a Terrell apartment on Friday morning — seizing heroin and making two arrests.

The raid was conducted at an apartment unit at The Texas Apartments located at 1001 Mineral Wells Street.

Police say after they breached the apartment, 25-year-old Sergio Navarro attempted to flee the scene. He was apprehended a short distance later and taken into custody. Also arrested was 31-year-old Ruby Ann Gonzalez.

Investigators located and seized 8.1 grams of suspected heroin which police estimated had a street value of approximately $800. Other drug paraphernalia and evidence indicative of the distribution of narcotics were seized along with $297 in U.S. currency believed to be the proceeds of the sale of illegal narcotics.

Navarro was charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams and evading arrest or detention. He is additionally being held on three warrants out of Kaufman County and Dallas County for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1. He is being held on bonds totaling $155,000.

Gonzalez was charged with manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
