FORNEY, Texas —A homeowner shot several warning shots at an alleged would-be theft suspect in downtown Forney, prompting an overnight search.

FORNEY, Texas —A homeowner shot several warning shots at an alleged would-be theft suspect in downtown Forney, prompting an overnight search.

At approximately 11:05 p.m., the Forney Police Department received multiple reports of shots being fired in the area of downtown Forney. Within that same minute, the police department received a 911 call from a homeowner in the 500 block of South Bois D’Arc who advised he shot several warning shots at a would-be theft suspect who was attempting to gain entry into a storage bin on a travel trailer.

Witnesses report between four and six shots were fired. The alleged burglar was described as wearing dark clothing and a dark hat.

As of 12:15 a.m., police had not located any individual(s) matching the description of the alleged suspect.
