John Anthony Southards, 25, of Forney, was arrested on Wednesday morning, January 8, for an attempted burglary in the Windmill Farms subdivision.
At approximately 9:00 a.m. Southards rang the doorbell of a house in the 1000 block of Bradford Lane. The homeowner did not answer the door because she did not know the individual. Moments later, the homeowner witnessed the suspect crawling through a bedroom window and screamed.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office stated, “When the homeowner screamed, the suspect fled the scene running toward Singletree Lane.” KCSO was provided with a description of the suspect who was later apprehended by deputies near the intersection of Buckingham and Warrington, also in the Windmill Farms subdivision of Forney.
Southards was arrested and charged with burglary of a habitation and is being held at the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center on a bond set at $75,000.
