KAUFMAN, Texas — Kaufman Independent School District campuses will have an increased police presence tomorrow after the district says they were made aware of potential threats circulating on social media.
"Kaufman ISD has been made aware of information circulating on social media regarding a potential threat to safety at KISD, read a statement from the district's police department. "As always, the safety of our students is a top priority, especially with the tragedy in Florida still heavy on our hearts."
"In light of the concern, Kaufman ISD will have increased police presence on campuses tomorrow," continued the statement.
Additional details on the nature of the threat were not disclosed.
District police and officials are asking anyone with specific information on threats or possible danger to student safety to contact Kaufman ISD of local law enforcement.
