KAUFMAN, Texas — Investigators with the Kaufman Police Department identified three juveniles responsible for slashing approximately 30 vehicle’s tires overnight in Kaufman.
Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black says approximately 30 vehicles in the area of Crestview Drive and 9th Street had their tires slashed.
“Investigators caught a big break when the parents of one of the children reported them to the police,” Black told inForney.com.
Two of the juveniles were 12 years old and one of the juveniles was nine years old.
The juveniles used knives to slash the tires, according to Black.
The two 12-year-olds will likely face charges for criminal mischief and the nine-year-old, due to the juvenile’s age, will not be criminally charged but the parents will likely be held financially responsible for the damages.
The case has been forwarded to the Kaufman County Juvenile Probation Department.
