FORNEY, Texas β A man arrested in possession of nearly 60 grams of methamphetamine by the Forney Police Department in June has been indicted by a Kaufman County grand jury.
On June 15, 2015, a Forney Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Farm-to-Market (FM) 740 and Patriot Parkway. 29-year-old Jay Christopher Minyard of Garland, Texas, was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Upon a consent search of the vehicle, police seized 59.5 grams of suspected methamphetamine in a clear plastic bag and .081 ounces of marijuana, according to a police arrest report.
Minyard was indicted for one count of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group one greater than four grams and less than 200 grams by the grand jury during an August 10, 2015, session.
Minyard was held at the City of Forney Jail until his transfer to the Kaufman County Jail where he remains jailed without bond on a parole violation, a $100,000 bond for possession of a controlled substance in penalty group one greater than four grams and less than 200 grams, a $3,500 bond for a Dallas County hold, and a capias pro fine in Kaufman County for $844.50.
At the time of his arrest, the vehicle was released to the registered owner who is from Terrell, Texas, according to the report.
