KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – A Kaufman County man was killed yesterday, August 24, 2014, after being shot during a domestic dispute.
KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas – A Kaufman County man was killed yesterday, August 24, 2014, after being shot during a domestic dispute.
According to Kaufman County Sheriff's Office Captain Fred Klingelberger, the man was shot in the upper torso by his common-law wife's brother. The incident took place at the brother's home at approximately 10 p.m. in the 1000 block of Lakeview Circle just north of Kaufman, Texas, off of State Highway 34.
The shooting victim, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman, Texas, and was later taken to Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas, where he was pronounced dead.
The wife had been staying at her brother's house due to "family violence" with the shooting victim at their home.
The brother was taken into custody by the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office. Authorities have not yet disclosed the charges related to the shooting death.
Authorities have also not yet released the name of the suspect or victim.
