A dispute between a man working on a piece of property on County Road 4012 and the property owner’s son sparked the shooting, according to Klingelberger who said the shooting remains under investigation.
The man working on the property allegedly ran over the property owner’s son and, while attempting to flee in his truck and trailer, became wedged in between two trees. As the man exited the truck and attempted to flee on foot, the property owner, a woman in her 70s, shot the man in the leg with a shotgun, stated Klingelberger.
Deputies and investigators remained on scene at the time of this report. It's unknown if any of the individuals will face any criminal charges.
Both men were treated for injuries, according to Klingelberger.
County Road 4012 is located east of Kemp, Texas, and north of Mabank, Texas.
