KAUFMAN COUNTY, Texas — The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office issued a safety alert on Tuesday night after several reports of two suspicious men attempting to lure homeowners out of the home for an alleged flower delivery.
Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Fred Klingelberger told inForney.com the department has received at least five calls in the last two days for two black males in a newer model, dark-colored Dodge truck with shiny rims.
The reports have been focused in the Scurry and Crandall areas, stated Klingelberger. In one instance, the men attempted to lure a female to their truck at approximately 10:30 p.m. by stating they had a flower delivery.
The men, who knew the woman’s name, told her she would have to get the flowers out of the truck. The two men left after the woman refused and told the men her three large dogs bite.
“The behavior of the men has been reported as suspicious,” stated Klingelberger. “We are advising citizens that if they find themselves in a similar situation to not approach the vehicle. Contact law enforcement as quickly as possible.”
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is also asking anyone with information on this case or similar incidents to contact the department at (972) 932-9771.
