KAUFMAN, Texas — The Kaufman Police Department is investigating a shooting which took place early Thursday morning and sent one man to an area hospital.
Kaufman police were dispatched to a home in the 400 block of Cates Drive at approximately 4:11 a.m. in reference to the shooting. “Upon arrival, officers learned that the victim, 59-year-old Stanley Holmes, had left the location,” stated Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black.
Holmes was later located at Presbyterian Hospital in Kaufman, Texas, where he had driven himself while suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen.
Holmes’ 30-year-old daughter was detained, questioned, and released pending further investigation, according to Black.
Holmes was transported to Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas, by a CareFlite medical helicopter for further treatment.
