The department has received several complaints of persons being contacted by aggressive callers claiming to be a roof repair company, the department stated Friday.
If anyone is approached by an aggressive contractor attempting to gain access to your backyard, your roof, or seeking to “resurface” your driveway, the Kaufman Police Department is asking residents to get a good description of the person, description of their vehicle, and a license plate number, if possible, and report it immediately to the department by calling (469) 376-4500.
“A reputable contractor will not be aggressive and will leave when you ask them to,” stated the department. “Please pass this information along to your elderly neighbors and family members.”
