KAUFMAN, Texas — The Kaufman Police Department arrested a Kaufman woman yesterday after she allegedly stole a wallet from a man and then stabbed him twice, once in the face and once in the hand.
At approximately 10 a.m. Tuesday, the woman, 19-year-old Felicia Green, approached an 18-wheeler driver parked in a gravel parking lot in the 200 block of East Fair Street next to Julio’s Market. The driver, a man, had just exited his cab when Green approached and asked for money.
When the driver took out his wallet, police say, Green then grabbed the wallet and attempted to run. The man was able to catch Green and take his wallet back but was stabbed twice by Green in the process — once in the face and once in the hand with a pocket knife. Green sustained apparent injuries to her face in the scuffle.
The man left the scene after obtaining his wallet. Green then called police and said she had been beaten and robbed.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office located the man driving on U.S. Highway 175 near Kemp, Texas. Upon further investigation, police determined it was Green who had attempted to rob the man.
The man sought a private doctor for his injuries and Green was booked into the Kaufman County Jail for aggravated robbery and is being held on a $50,000 bond.
