KAUFMAN, Texas — The Kaufman Police Department is investigating a large cigarette theft at a local convenience store which occurred early Monday morning.
Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black says the individuals, or individual, gained entry by prying the front doors open at the AAA Food Store in the 1000 block of East Mulberry Street and made off with over 100 cartons of cigarettes.
The theft occurred at approximately 12:50 a.m., Black told inForney.com.
Investigators are working to obtain surveillance video and, in the meantime, are asking for the public’s assistance helping to identify the person(s) involved.
“Please keep your eyes and ears open and let us know if you hear anything,” read a statement from the department on Monday morning.
