KAUFMAN, Texas — The Kaufman Police Department is investigating the theft of three firearms from a vehicle and five reported vehicle burglaries in the Scott Edition.
The firearms, described as a black AR-style rifle, an over-under 12-gauge shotgun, and a pump 12-gauge shotgun, were believed to be taken from the vehicle between approximately 9 p.m. on May 13 and noon on May 14.
The incident took place in the 400 block of East Grove Street.
On Sunday, the department warned area residents to lock their vehicles after receiving five vehicle burglary reports of unlocked vehicles in the Scott Edition.
The police department is seeking the public's assistance with information on the case. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Sergeant Tommy Black at (972) 932-3094.
