KAUFMAN, Texas (Kaufman Police Department) — The Kaufman Police Department is investigating a series of complaints in which an unknown person (or persons) is calling individuals and stating that they are an investigator with the Kaufman Police Department and, that if they do not pay money to them, they will be arrested.

The Kaufman Police Department does not contact people by telephone and solicit any money of any kind. If you receive one of these calls please immediately contact the Criminal Investigation Division of the Kaufman Police Department. We ask that if you are able to capture a telephone number to please do so and provide that to the investigators.
Multiple leads are being followed and any information the community may have please contact the Kaufman Police Department or contact the Kaufman County Crime Stoppers.
