FORNEY, Texas — The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an early morning gas station robbery and attempted ATM theft.
Early Friday morning, several individuals attempted to steal an ATM at the Shell gas station on Helms Trail at Interstate 20, according to Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Captain Fred Klingelberger.
The store owner came our of the back of the store and the thieves instead turned their attention to the cash from the register, leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The store sustained damage to the front door and brick facade near the door.
No injuries were reported.
