KCSO investigating reports of pack animals at large, reportedly responsible for livestock deaths

KAUFMAN, Texas — Residents in Kaufman have gone to social media to express their concern over a pack of dogs running at large and killing livestock on private property.

inForney.com reached out to the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office which sated the reports are actively being investigated.

Kimberly Maggi posted in the Kaufman County Breaking News Facebook Group expressing concern for the pack of dogs and the grave damage they have caused to livestock. According to her post, she’s also concerned that they might threaten people's and children's safety.

“The[y] are super aggressive, and [I’m] afraid they will kill a child or elderly person,” she stated.

Another resident commented that this had also been an issue in Combine.

Bryanna Edwards commented that this pack of dogs is responsible for the death of 24 goats and multiple other injuries.

Sheriff Bryan Beavers said his office has contacted Ms. Maggi and is awaiting a response. Furthermore, the Sheriff says his office takes all reports made seriously.

“The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office addresses all concerns raised by our citizens,” said Sheriff Bryan Beavers. ‘We are seeking the facts regarding this matter and are working towards a solution.”

Sheriff Beavers told inForney.com that they had previously set traps near Abner Baptist Church but were unsuccessful in catching animals.

“If anyone has information on the owners of these animals or where they are sheltering, please call the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office,” said Sheriff Beavers. “Together, we will keep our community safe.”
