KEMP, Texas — A Kemp woman was jailed on a charge of misapplication of fiduciary property after allegedly stealing GoFundMe donations intended for funeral expenses.

KEMP, Texas — A Kemp woman was jailed on a charge of misapplication of fiduciary property after allegedly stealing GoFundMe donations intended for funeral expenses.

25-year-old Amanda Mitchell remains jailed in the Henderson County Jail on the charge of misapplication of fiduciary property greater than or equal to $2,500 and less than $30,000 on a $10,000 bond, according to jail records.

Mitchell is accused of taking approximately $2,800 from a GoFundMe account setup to solicit donations for another woman's daughter's funeral, KLTV reported. Of $3,626.17 raised, $800 was paid to the victim.

Mitchell's criminal history in Henderson County includes a 2017 conviction for abandon or endanger a child, criminal negligence.
