KEMP, Texas — A Kemp woman is sought on felony burglary charges in Henderson County, according to the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office.
24-year-old Lesley Henderson of Kemp, Texas, is wanted on a felony warrant for burglary of a habitation. Henderson is known to frequent the Seven Points and Tool areas of Henderson County.
Henderson and two others are suspects in a May burglary of a habitation south of Athens, Texas. The other two suspects, 34-year-old Billie Turnage and 26-year-old Corey Hodges were already jailed on separate charges when the burglary charges were filed.
Newly-elected Henderson County Sheriff Botie Hillhouse says his recent campaign against illegal drugs aided in the burglary investigation.
“Turnage was in jail because she was caught up in our series of recent drug arrests,” Hillhouse said. “Her arrest and further investigation helped crack the burglary case. This campaign against illegal drugs is helping us arrest criminals wanted for different crimes and making our county a safer place to live.”
“Two suspects in this burglary of a home are in jail, but one is at-large. Anyone who knows where she is please pick up the phone and turn this fugitive from justice in,” Hillhouse said.
Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office at (903) 675-5128 or the Henderson County Crime Stoppers at (903) 675-TIPS.
“Fifteen people have been arrested in the past two weeks since Hillhouse began the office’s crack-down on illegal drugs,” according to a statement from the department.
Turnage and Hodges are being held on $25,000 bonds in the burglary case.
Henderson faces a second-degree felony, up to 20 years in prison, and a $10,000 fine if found guilty.
