KAUFMAN, Texas — Several law enforcement agencies thwarted a theft in progress at the Walmart in Kaufman on Friday, ultimately resulting in the arrest of four individuals.
KAUFMAN, Texas — Several law enforcement agencies thwarted a theft in progress at the Walmart in Kaufman on Friday, ultimately resulting in the arrest of four individuals.
According to the Kaufman Police Department, police officers were dispatched to the Walmart on Kings Fort Parkway in reference to a theft in progress. The first reposting officer made contact with two individuals — one stopped and was detained and the other fled on foot.
Police say the individual who fled on foot entered a vehicle with his friends and further attempted to flee in the vehicle.
“One of our Officers attempted to stop the vehicle but it would not stop until multiple other Law Enforcement Officers arrived and they realized that they could not get away,” stated the department on Facebook.
“A quick response by your Kaufman Police Department and with the assistance of the Constables Office and Fire Marshall's Office we were able to get these guys in custody without anyone being hurt,” the department stated.
Ultimately, four suspects were taken into custody, according to police.
