TERRELL, Texas — A man was arrested early Sunday morning after a reported disturbance and brief high-speed pursuit.
Around midnight, police were notified of a suspicious person in the 500 block of Heather Lane. The person, later identified as 30-year-old Michael Anthony Echols of Terrell, Texas, reportedly kicked in his ex-girlfriend’s apartment door.
Echols was seen leaving the apartment in his vehicle and a brief pursuit ensued, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.
Speeds during the pursuit were reported around 95 miles per hour as Echols fled westbound on Spur 557, just south of the Heather Lane Rental Townhomes. The pursuit ended just west of the Spur 557 merge with U.S. Highway 80 and the Terrell city limits.
Echols was taken into custody without further incident and charged with evading arrest and criminal trespass. Marijuana was also located on his person and he was additionally charged with possession of marijuana less than two ounces.
