KEMP, Texas — A man was arrested after allegedly stealing a tractor and damaging a fence at a Kemp-area business last month, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office announced earlier today.
KEMP, Texas — A man was arrested after allegedly stealing a tractor and damaging a fence at a Kemp-area business last month, the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office announced earlier today.
“On February 27, 2017, a business in Kemp reported the theft of a tractor and damage to fencing,” the department stated. “In the days following, the owner of the business received an anonymous tip to the location of the tractor.”
Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office investigators identified Jeffrey Wheeler as a person of interest in the case and later obtained an arrest warrant for his arrest. Wheeler was booked into the Kaufman County Jail on charges of theft and criminal mischief. He has since posted bond and was released.
