Man arrested and charged with DWI after leading Terrell PD on pursuit

TERRELL, Texas – A suspected drunk driver was arrested on August 9, 2014, after leading the Terrell Police Department on a brief pursuit.

TERRELL, Texas – A suspected drunk driver was arrested on August 9, 2014, after leading the Terrell Police Department on a brief pursuit.

40-year-old Jack Don Proctor was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated second or more, evading arrest or detention with a prior conviction, and evading arrest or detention with a vehicle.

According to a police report, the pursuit began in the 1200 block of Rosehill Road in Terrell, Texas, on the city's south side at approximately 2:13 a.m. The pursuit ended a short time later in Kaufman County in the 4000 block of Willow Brook Circle – approximately three miles from where it began.

Proctor allegedly drove through one individual's backyard on Willow Brook Circle and stopped just short of striking a home, stated a witness speaking with inForney.com. Police state Proctor struck a trailer at that home which was parked between their fence and the home.

Proctor is being held in the Kaufman County Jail on bonds totaling $25,000.

Proctor has prior convictions for robbery in Terrell, Texas, in 1995; forgery to defraud another in Terrell in 2001; driving while intoxicated in Fort Worth, Texas, in 2004; sexual assault in Midlothian, Texas, in 2004; evading arrest or detention in Irving, Texas, in 2004; driving while license suspended in Waxahachie, Texas, in 2004; evading arrest or detention in Terrell in 2006; and theft of a firearm in Kaufman County, Texas, in 2008.
