FORNEY, Texas β€” A 19-year-old man was arrested in connection with an armed robbery of a woman attempting to sell a phone on a buy/sell app in Forney yesterday.

According to the Forney Police Department, the Dallas Police Department arrested 19-year-old Steven Warren Daniels Jr. on an outstanding robbery warrant from a separate incident which occurred in Mesquite.

Daniels was later identified as the suspect in the Forney incident on Wednesday morning in which Daniels allegedly displayed a handgun and stole a phone from a woman he was meeting, arranged through the buy/sell app β€œLet Go,” in the 600 block of Tumbleweed Drive.

In addition to the Mesquite charges, Daniels is facing a first-degree felony aggravated robbery charge from the Forney Police Department for which he is being held on a $150,000 bond.

β€œAs a reminder, if citizens are using selling apps that require the seller and buyer to meet, we encourage these transactions to be made in a public place,” the department stated in a press release on Wednesday following the incident.

β€œWe would like to thank the Dallas and Mesquite Police Departments who assisted in this investigation and to the citizens who provided information related to the case,” stated the department.
