Man arrested in downtown Forney shooting incident

FORNEY, Texas — A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident which occurred February 19, 2017, in downtown Forney.

FORNEY, Texas — A 27-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a shooting incident which occurred February 19, 2017, in downtown Forney.

Police received several 911 calls for shots fired around 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 19 in the area of downtown. The location was later narrowed to the intersection of Austin Street and West Trinity Street when a 911 caller located several shell casings in the area.

While in route to the initial call, police officers received information a witness had followed the suspect to the 300 block of Broad Street. Officers later obtained possible suspect information which led to investigators identifiying 27-year-old Kevin Hack as a possible suspect.

Hack later admitted to investigators he fired seven rounds from his firearm into the ground, according to the Forney Police Department in an update on Monday, February 27, 2017.

Hack was arrested earlier today and was charged with disorderly conduct, a class B misdemeanor. Bond information was not yet available.

In Kaufman County, Hack has been previously charged, among other charges, with reckless driving for which he served one day in the Kaufman County Jail and possession of marijuana for which he served nine months probation, according to county and state records.
