FORNEY, Texas — A Forney man was arrested last week after firing a gun in the direction of a victim, police said in a Tuesday morning release following an inForney.com request for additional information.
At 8:40 p.m., on November 18, 2015, the Forney Police Department responded to 7-11 where the victim called 911 — reporting a male armed with a firearm and shot in the victim’s direction.
Police say, the disturbance began earlier in the day with an incident at a residence and culminated when the victim was cut off by the suspect’s vehicle on the north service road of U.S. Highway 80 just west of Bank of America. When both vehicles were stopped, the suspect exited his vehicle, approached the victim’s vehicle, and fired one shot in the vicinity of the victim.
“After further investigation, the suspect was arrested the following morning and was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, a second degree felony with a bond of $50,000,” the City of Forney’s Public Information Officer Kyle Rouvaldt stated.
The man was later identified by jail records as 51-year-old Richard Kirkland.
No injuries were reported in the incident.
