TERRELL, Texas — A Terrell man remains under police guard at an area-hospital after fleeing from police on a small dirt bike and attempting to hide under a home.

At approximately 4 p.m., Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom says a man, identified as 34-year-old Nicholas Donnell Allison or Terrell, Texas, was observed by a Terrell Police Department Narcotics Officer driving the mini bike on city streets. Allison was known to the officer for having outstanding warrants for assault on a public servant and resisting arrest, search, or transport.

The officer attempted to stop Allison for operating an unregistered vehicle on the roadway when Allison fled onto Laroe Street and south in the northbound lanes of State Highway (SH) 34.

Allison turned around and traveled back towards Laroe Street near an address in the 300 block where he encountered another responding officer who was on Blanche Street. Allison stopped for a brief moment, according to Sansom, before he continue east, fell off the bike in a puddle of water, and fled on foot west towards SH 34.

A witness told officers Allison went through a small opening under a house in the 600 block of Greenwood Street. When officers told Allison to come out from under the house, he responded ‘I’m stuck and can’t breathe,” stated Sansom who said Allison also stated he had a pistol.

EMS and the Terrell Fire Department were dispatched to the scene.

Allison recanted his statement of being in possession of a firearm and was able to get close enough to the small opening under the house for officers to assist him out from under the house, according to Sansom.

“While being checked out by EMS, Allison was unresponsive to medical staff,” stated Sansom.

Allison, who is facing charges for evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and evading arrest or detention, remains at a local area hospital under police guard Wednesday night.
