TERRELL, Texas — A man found sleeping in the back of a car at a Terrell car wash was arrested early Sunday morning on multiple drug charges and is being held on bonds totaling $210,500.

TERRELL, Texas — A man found sleeping in the back of a car at a Terrell car wash was arrested early Sunday morning on multiple drug charges and is being held on bonds totaling $210,500.

At approximately 4:38 a.m., a Terrell Police Department police officer was on patrol in the 1300 block of West Moore Avenue when he observed a white Mercury Grand Marquis at the Classic Car Wash.

The officer observed the vehicle parked at the car wash for over an hour, with the engine still running, and no one was observed standing around the vehicle which deemed the vehicle suspicious, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.

Upon closer inspection from outside the vehicle, the police officer observed a clear plastic baggie inside the vehicle which contained a white substance and a person sleeping in the backseat of the vehicle.

The police officer awoke the sleeping person, identified as 28-year-old Kameron Herrera of Terrell, Texas, and conducted a lawful search of the vehicle, according to Sansom.

The officer located several baggies containing pills, suspected cocaine, suspected methamphetamine, and suspect marijuana. All suspected drugs tested presumptive positive and the pills were identified as Xanax 2mg.

The methamphetamine weighed 3.2 grams, the cocaine weighed 2.4 grams, the marijuana weighed 27.6 grams, and the Xanax weighed 7.8 grams.

Herrera was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than or equal to one gram and less than four grams with $100,000 bonds on each charge, possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 3 less than 28 grams with a $7,500 bond, and possession of marijuana less than two ounces with a $3,000 bond.

Herrera is currently being held in the Kaufman County Jail.
