Man held on bonds over $500K on drug, weapon charges

TERRELL, Texas — A traffic stop in Terrell landed a 50-year-old man in jail on drug and weapon charges.

TERRELL, Texas — A traffic stop in Terrell landed a 50-year-old man in jail on drug and weapon charges.

Terrell Police Department narcotics officers stopped 50-year-old William Bowden for a traffic violation in the 100 block of South Rockwall, Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom told inForney.com.

Bowden had a suspended license and no valid insurance on the vehicle, according to Sansom.

5.4 grams of methamphetamine and a .410 "snake charmer" weapon were discovered during a search incident arrest.

"He was also previously convicted of a felony and not allowed to possess a firearm," stated Sansom.

Bowden was charged with driving while license suspended, unlawful possession of a firearm by felon, and possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams.
