TERRELL, Texas β€” A Terrell man was quickly arrested after allegedly robbing the Fast Cash Advance store in Terrell on Monday evening, August 3, 2015.

At approximately 6:51 p.m., the Terrell Police Department responded to the Fast Cash Advance in the 1800 block of West Moore Avenue for a reported robbery which had just occurred.

Just three minutes later, police nabbed the alleged robber, identified by police as 23-year-old Javier Perez of Terrell, Texas, in the 2000 block of West Moore Avenue.

Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom says Perez walked into the Fast Cash Advance and asked the female clerk to borrow a pen and paper. "The suspect wrote the demand on this piece of paper and passed it to her," he said. Afraid, the clerk gave Perez all the money from the cash drawer.

Perez fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later just down the street from the store with the cash still in his possession.

Through an interpreter, Perez admitted to robbing the business and taking the money, according to Sansom. Perez was charged with robbery and booked into the Terrell City Jail where he remained Tuesday morning.
