ELMO, Texas — A Lewisville man wanted on multiple warrants led police on a chase from Elmo to downtown Dallas during the early morning hours Thursday.
Around 12:30 a.m., a Kaufman County Sheriff's Office deputies attempted to stop a vehicle on U.S. Highway 80 near the Elmo community, in eastern Kaufman County, due to suspecting the driver of being intoxicated.
The driver, later identified by police as 43-year-old Allen Blair of Lewisville, Texas, turned his car around and drove westbound on U.S. Highway 80.
During the pursuit, police successfully deployed Stop Stix three times; once by Kaufman County Sheriff's Office deputies near Terrell, a second time by the Forney Police Department, and a third time by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.
"All three deployments were successful, however the vehicle continued to drive on three wheel rims until finally stopping at Main Street and Akard in Downtown Dallas," read a statement from the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office.
Once Blair stopped the vehicle, police say he then fled on foot for a short distance before being apprehended by Kaufman County Sheriff's Office deputies and Dallas Police Department officers.
Blair was transported to the Kaufman County Jail where he is awaiting arraignment on a Kaufman County Sheriff's Office charge of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle, a state-jail felony.
Blair was also wanted on warrants for unlawful use or possession of identifying information by the Flower Mound Police Department and the Denton County Sheriff's Office and unlawful possession of a firearm by felon, false statement to obtain property or credit, and tampering with a government document with intent to impair or defraud by the Dallas County Sheriff's Office.
