FORNEY, Texas — A man who fled deputies who were serving a warrant Thursday morning was arrested after a manhunt near Forney.

FORNEY, Texas — A man who fled deputies who were serving a warrant Thursday morning was arrested after a manhunt near Forney.

Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Fred Klingelberger says deputies were serving a warrant for his arrest when he fled on foot.

The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Forney Police Department, Precinct 2 Constable’s Office, and the Crandall Police Department in establishing a permitter around the search area between Windy Lane, Helms Trail, Farm-to-Market (FM) 741, and FM 2932.

The man, who has not been identified, was located by deputies in an old barn structure behind a residence in the 11000 block of Windy Lane and arrested without further incident just before 10 a.m.

Investigators also honed in on a truck, believed to belong to the suspect, which was parked at the Shell gas station on Helms Trail.

Details on the warrant were not available.
