KAUFMAN, Texas β The Kaufman Police Department seized marijuana and PCP from a man after a traffic stop in their city on April 2, 2015.
At approximately 10:11 p.m., police say they stopped 32-year-old Marcello Deon Horton for multiple traffic offenses. During the stop, the officer smelled the odor of burned marijuana coming from the vehicle and a search revealed over four ounces of marijuana, which was individually packaged for sale, and 24 vials of suspected PCP.
Horton was taken into custody and later booked into the Kaufman County Jail where he is being held on bonds totaling $108,500 for manufacture or delivery of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 greater than or equal to four grams and less than 200 grams, delivery of marijuana over one-quarter ounce and less than or equal to five pounds, driving while license invalid with previous conviction, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
βWe are seeing more and more PCP in this area, as are Terrell and other local agencies,β stated Kaufman Police Department Captain Ed Black. βWe strongly encourage parents to sit down and talk with your children about drugs and the devastation that they leave behind in one's life.β
