FORNEY, Texas — A Mesquite woman was arrested and charged with deadly conduct in connection with a shooting in a residential neighborhood in Forney on Tuesday.

Around 6:30 p.m., the Forney Police Department was dispatched to the Park Trails on a report of shots fired. There, police discovered expended shell casings in the 100 block of Acadia Lane and bullet impacts on a tree and a residence.

No injuries were reported in the shooting.

"In partnership with nearby residents who provided a description of a vehicle leaving the scene as well as video footage, members of the Forney Police Department Criminal Investigations Division were able to identify a suspect," read a statement from the Forney Police Department.

Yesterday, September 9, 2020, members of the Forney-Terrell SWAT Team, assisted by patrol officers from the Balch Springs Police Department, executed a search and arrest warrant at a residence in the 500 block of Cartwright in Balch Springs and arrested Carissa Arreola.

Arreola was charged with deadly conduct, a third-degree felony. Bond information was not available at the time of press.
