FORNEY, Texas — One person was arrested early Friday morning after leading police on a chase from Forney to Wills Point.
The pursuit began after police attempted to stop a reported reckless driver on eastbound U.S. Highway 80 just after 1 a.m.
The driver refused to stop and fled eastbound on U.S. Highway 80, briefly at speeds in excess of 90 miles per hour, through Forney, Terrell, Elmo, and eventually into Wills Point where the driver was apprehended without further incident in a field near Wills Point High School.
The Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office, Terrell Police Department, Van Zandt County Sheriff’s Office, Wills Point Police Department, and a Texas Department of Public Safety helicopter assisted in the pursuit.
