On June 16, 2024, at approximately 7 p.m., the Forney Police Department responded to a reported large fight with shots fired.
Police say, fortunately, nobody was struck by gunfire.
In an update, police say one suspect is in custody and another had fled the scene prior to police arrival.
"The second suspect fled the scene in a vehicle and is no longer believed to be in the area," read a statement from the department. "This is still an active investigation."
Authorities have advised residents to avoid the area as the investigation is ongoing and the suspect remains at large. The suspect is described as a Black male wearing a red hoodie and was last seen on foot near Heritage Hill.
Residents in the vicinity of Carl C Senter and Heritage Hill are urged to check their ring cameras for any suspicious activity. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Forney Police Department at (972) 564-7600.
