FORNEY, Texas — One person has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Windmill Farms on Saturday morning.
At approximately 10:33 a.m., the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office dispatch center received a call of a stabbing in the 2000 block of Faircrest Trail in the Windmill Farms neighborhood, Kaufman County Precinct 2 Constable Jason Johnson told inForney.com.
Johnson says two family members were involved in an on-going dispute which escalated to today's incident.
One adult male was transported to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, by CareFlite ambulance. He was conscious and coherent at the time of transport, stated Johnson.
The suspect had left the scene prior to deputies arrival but had returned with another family member after purchasing medical supplies at an area pharmacy.
A Constable's Office deputy, who was working a nearby marathon, was able to respond to the scene within minutes and took the suspect into custody without further incident, stated Johnson.
The suspect was taken to the Kaufman County Sheriff's Office for further interviews and investigation and will likely face charges for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and/or family violence charges.
The Kaufman County Sheriff's Office and Precinct 2 Constable's Office are jointly investigating.
Johnson says at no time was the suspect on foot fleeing the scene before he was taken into custody and has so far cooperated with investigators.
