One arrested on drug charges following warrant execution by Terrell, Forney police

TERRELL, Texas β€” One man was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Henderson Street in Terrell, Texas, on Friday, March 20, 2015.

TERRELL, Texas β€” One man was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a residence in the 300 block of Henderson Street in Terrell, Texas, on Friday, March 20, 2015.

At approximately 6:25 a.m., Terrell Police Department SWAT team, Narcotics Unit, and with assistance of the Forney Police Department, the search warrant was executed, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom.

Arrested was 40-year-old Devlon Laquin James who was charged with possession of a controlled substance in penalty group 1 in an amount greater than or equal to 200 grams and less than 400 grams and also possession of marijuana less than two ounces.

Officers found and seized what was believed to be marijuana in the living room of the residence, a bottle of Promethazine-codeine syrup without a prescription, and a digital scale with drug residue. $301 was also seized as suspected proceeds from drug sales.

The residence was also deemed a dangerous dwelling due to several health and city code violations and utilities to the property, placed on the substandard list, were stopped.
