FORNEY, Texas — One person is in custody following reports of "shots fired" behind the Chili's restaurant in Forney on Monday.
Around noon, Forney Police Department officers were conducting an arrest near the Chili's restaurant when they heard gunshots nearby, according to the department.
"Officers quickly located the suspect and placed him into custody," stated the department.
Witnesses say police also entered the restaurant during their search for the suspect.
Police say there are no reported injuries or further threat to the public.
Early in the investigation, the back of the Chili's and a black SUV were taped off for crime scene investigation, which has since been released.
"The suspect is believed to have fired blank rounds from the firearm," read an update from the department Monday afternoon. "Thankfully, the public was never in danger."
The suspect, who hasn't publicly been identified as of press time, will remain in custody and face several charges in connection with the incident, according to police.
