FORNEY, Texas — Police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured in the Forney area on Tuesday evening.

FORNEY, Texas — Police are investigating a shooting that left a man injured in the Forney area on Tuesday evening.

Around 5 p.m., police responded to a reported gunshot victim at a residence in the Windmill Farms neighborhood just east of the Forney city limits.

The victim advised police he had been shot in the area of U.S. Highway 80 and Windmill Farms Boulevard while a passenger in a vehicle.

The man was transported by EMS to Baylor, Scott & White in Forney where he was further transported by CareFlite helicopter to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, Texas.

Four or five shots were reportedly fired during the incident. There has been no word on any additional victims.

Police temporarily closed off portions of the U.S. Highway 80 frontage road while they investigated and attempted to locate shell casings related to the shooting.

Police have not released any details or additional circumstances related the shooting.
