COMBINE, Texas — A 24-year-old Seagoville man was fatally injured and dumped in the Combine area last Thursday night, May 11, 2017, according to police.
The Dallas County Sheriff’s Department responded to a home in the 3000 block of Bois D Arc Road in the Combine area for a reported injured person.
Upon deputies’ arrival, the man, 24-year-old David Cox, of Seagoville, Texas, was being transported to an area hospital with severe head trauma and injuries, Dallas County Sheriff’s Department Public Information Officer Melinda Urbina told inForney.com on Tuesday. Cox later died at the hospital.
Cox’s body was seen being dumped from a white pickup truck which was recovered a short distance from where his body was located, stated Urbina. The truck was later determined to have been stolen and was unoccupied when it was located by deputies.
“Our detectives are still interviewing witnesses and processing evidence to determine what exactly occurred and to identify suspects,” stated Urbina.
The area where the pickup truck was located and Cox’s body was recovered are in the Combine area of Dallas County, just west of the Kaufman County line, and south of Seagoville.
