CRANDALL, Texas — A Crandall woman was charged with injury to an elderly person after striking her 65-year-old mother with a cooking pot, according to police.
46-year-old Denise Sparks was arrested by the Crandall Police Department earlier this week and booked into the Kaufman County Jail on February 23, 2016, on a $100,000 bond for injury to an elderly.
Crandall Police Department Chief Billy Kilgore says, in response to an inForney.com inquiry, Sparks was involved in a verbal argument with her 65-year-old mother when she allegedly struck her with a cooking pot and shoved her to the ground.
Kilgore says the mother injured her hip and suffered an approximate one-inch laceration to her head from striking the floor which required staples.
