TERRELL, Texas — A 34-year-old Quinlan, Texas, man was arrested after leading police on an overnight low-speed pursuit from Terrell into Hunt County.
Just before midnight, the Terrell Police Department attempted a traffic stop on a black 2001 Dodge Ram pickup in the 300 block of East College, according to Terrell Police Department Captain A.D. Sansom. The truck failed to yield and the pursuit was initiated.
The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Jeremiah Ashby, led police on a low-speed pursuit north on State Highway 34 into Hunt County where the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office deployed spike strips, according to Sansom.
Ashby continued onto Farm-to-Market (FM) 276 and later abandoned his vehicle near Private Road 2280 and Private Road 2285 just north of the Quinlan city limits.
Sansom says Ashby then fled on foot and was apprehended following a brief foot pursuit. Ashby is facing charges of evading arrest or detention with a vehicle and evading arrest or detention.
