ROCKWALL, Texas — The Rockwall Police Department is investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl and have arrested her mother, identified as a person of interest in the child’s death, on unrelated charges.
According to the Rockwall Police Department, police responded to the child’s home in the 300 block of Eva Place on Thursday, November 20, 2014, at approximately 8:18 a.m. Police were responding to a medical call and found the child, identified as Jade Guillen, suffering from an apparent seizure.
The child was transported to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, with potentially life-threatening injuries and was placed on life-support systems, according to police. The child succumbed to her injuries on Saturday, November 22, 2014, and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The mother, 28-year-old Heidy Jaqueline Guillen, was arrested on unrelated charges on November 21, 2014, according to jail records, and is being held in the Rockwall County Detention Center on a $50,000 bond for forgery of a government, national institution, money or security, and no bond on an immigration hold from the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS.)
Police stated in a release earlier today, Guillen was a person of interest in the child’s death.
