Kemp ISD, Waxahachie ISD, and multiple others have been impacted by threats circulating on social media this week. While authorities believe these threats are a hoax, local districts aren't taking any chances. With the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the United States, guards are up amongst parents, their children, the districts, and law enforcement.

Craig Miller, a former Dallas ISD Police Chief and school security expert, told NBC 5 that these threats typically occur closer to the holiday season. Still, today, being 9/11, the threats "trigger" some people.

School safety threats are a federal crime, and authorities take them seriously. Authorities have advised that if you are made aware of a threat, you should report it to law enforcement immediately so that they might begin investigating.
