SEAGOVILLE, Texas — Two alleged robbery suspects were apprehended after a brief pursuit Thursday morning.

At approximately 9:18 a.m., Seagoville Police Department Captain Ray Calverly says two men walked into the AT&T store located in the 300 block of North U.S. Highway 175 where one suspect displayed a handgun and demanded all the smartphones and cash.

At the time, there was only one employee in the store which had just opened.

Included in the robbery suspects’ loot was an AT&T tracking phone which police used to pinpoint their location to an area near 635 and Military Parkway where an officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit ensued.

Mid-chase, the passenger bailed from the vehicle while it was moving and attempted to run on foot. He was apprehended a short time later in a nearby neighborhood.

The driver continued to flee but wrecked the vehicle into a support beam of an apartment complex awning in the 9700 block of Bruton Road. The driver attempted to get another vehicle to drive him out of the area but was unsuccessful and fled on foot and was apprehended a short time later.

The driver, identified as 22-year-old Giante Lahkell White, sustained a head injury while attempting to jump fence while fleeing. White was transported to an area hospital for treatment and later released into police custody.

The passenger was identified as 22-year-old Treshon Thomas. Both Thomas and White were charged with aggravated robbery, according to Calverly who said the stolen merchandise, including a bank deposit bag which contained several hundred dollars, were returned to AT&T.
