Several indicted in separate Forney area theft rings

FORNEY, Texas β€” Several indictments were handed down yesterday, Friday, November 21, 2014, by a Kaufman County grand jury for individuals involved in two separate theft rings in the Forney area who were arrested last month.

FORNEY, Texas β€” Several indictments were handed down yesterday, Friday, November 21, 2014, by a Kaufman County grand jury for individuals involved in two separate theft rings in the Forney area who were arrested last month.

Indicted were Lakai Robinson with one count of engaging in organized criminal activity; Joshua McKinnies with one count of engaging in organized criminal activity; Thaddeus Stewart with one count of engaging in organized criminal activity; Zachary Taylor with one count of unauthorized use of a vehicle, theft of firearm, burglary of a habituation, and three counts of engaging in organized criminal activity; and Brandon Morgan with one count of burglary of a habituation, theft of a firearm, and three counts of engaging in organized criminal activity.

Robinson, McKinnies, Stewart, and another man, Jordan Points of Heath, Texas, were all arrested on October 21, 2014, for allegedly burglarizing vehicles in the Forney area. Each were students at Trinity Valley Community College where they were indefinitely suspended following their arrests.

Police issued search warrants for their dorm rooms in Athens, Texas, and recovered stolen property which linked to Forney, Kaufman County, and Tyler, Texas. A stolen firearm was also recovered near Pasadena, Texas.

McKinnies and Points remained jailed at the Kaufman County Jail on bonds totaling $7,500 and $72,000, respectively.

Zachary Taylor, Morgan, and three other Forney men, Jonah Taylor, Robert Tijerina, and Alejandro Villalobos were arrested during the week of October 13, 2014, for an elaborate theft ring in the Forney and Terrell area. Police recovered several stolen vehicles, a stolen firearm, and other numerous personal property items.

Zachary Taylor, Jonah Taylor, and Morgan remained jailed at the Kaufman County Jail on bonds totaling $154,500, $132,000, $148,000, respectively.

More indictments are expected in both theft ring cases.
