KEMP, TEXAS — Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office investigators continue processing the scene this afternoon where an infant child was found deceased earlier today near the Kaufman and Henderson County lines.

According to officials, this morning Kaufman County 911 dispatch received a call just before 9 a.m. for an unresponsive child in the 7000 block of County Road 4044.

Upon arrival, KCSO deputies found that a 3-month-old child was found deceased in one of the multiple travel trailers on the property.

inForney.com has confirmed that KCSO investigators secured a search warrant for the entire property before processing the scene.

Kaufman County Justice of the Peace Pct. 1 Judge Mary Bardin ordered the infant’s remains be transferred to the Dallas County Medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.

Officials declined to speculate on the cause of death but did say that the living conditions amongst the trailers and those living in close proximity to the child warrant further investigation and referral to child protective services.
