Six arrested during execution of search warrant at Forney residence in connection with aggravated robbery investigation

FORNEY, Texas โ€” The execution of a search warrant in connection with an aggravated robbery investigation netted six arrests on Friday morning, according to the Forney Police Department.

On Thursday, August 27, 2020, shortly before 9 p.m., police say a pedestrian was walking in the area of the 1100 block of Ranch Road when he noticed he was being followed by three black males. The suspects ultimately made contact with the pedestrian, asked him for cigarettes, and then displayed a handgun in an attempt to rob him of his personal belongings.

The pedestrian flagged down a passing motorists and the suspects fled the scene empty handed. The victim was uninjured.

The suspects remained at large Thursday night following a multi-agency search in the area of the reported aggravated robbery.

"Our ongoing investigation led us to execute a search warrant on August 28, 2020, at a residence in the 600 block of Fox Glenn Drive," read a statement from the Forney Police Department.

Members of the Forney-Terrell SWAT team executed the search warrant without incident and investigators were able to recover numerous evidentiary items from the residence, including the handgun believed to be used in the aggravated robbery, according to the department.

Six people were arrested on a variety of on-view criminal charges and outstanding arrest warrants, Forney Police Department Chief Mica Lunt tells inForney.com. Lunt says the investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are expected as a result of this morning's search warrant.

"Forney Police Department Detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division are continuing to investigate this case and additional charges are possible," read a statement from the department.

Arrested this morning were 21-year-old Dariun Dโ€™Quon Beverly for tampering with evidence, a third-degree felony; 22-year-old Darius Deion Beverly on a Dallas County warrant for aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony; 20-year-old Demetricus Cortez Beverly for failure to identify or give false information, a class B misdemeanor; 19-year-old Jemario Quintez Freeman for possession of drug paraphernalia, a class C misdemeanor; 22-year-old Malik Deshjuan Small on numerous class C misdemeanor warrants; and 20-year-old Keenen Rashid Sutton for failure to identify or give false information.
