KAUFMAN, Texas — Working off a tip from the Secret Service, the Kaufman Police Department discovered four skimming devices at two gas pumps at Triple AAA Food Store earlier today.
KAUFMAN, Texas — Working off a tip from the Secret Service, the Kaufman Police Department discovered four skimming devices at two gas pumps at Triple AAA Food Store earlier today.
The discovery is the second such discovery at the gas station this year.
Investigators believe the skimming devices have been installed inside the pumps since September, according to a statement from the Kaufman Police Department.
"The devices were installed inside the pump and not visible from outside the pumps," stated the department.
"We strongly encourage anyone that has purchased fuel at this location since the beginning of September of 2018 contact their banking institutions, credit card companies, and the top three credit reporting bureaus at the following numbers, to check for any fraudulent debit / credit transactions," the department stated.
Police are also working with other area gas stations to check for skimming devices.
The investigation remains ongoing.
